Mountain market at the Hartmannswillerkopf

Every Wednesday in July and August

Honey and the mountain market at the Hartmannswillerkopf

In order to strengthen the links between the Hartmannswillerkopf memorial site and its environment, the CMNHWK will offer a weekly mountain market during the summer, starting on 21 July. About ten local producers (cheese, honey, wine, etc.) will meet each week at the Hartmannswillerkopf to present their products and offer them for direct sale, from producer to consumer. This will be an opportunity to discover the Hartmannswillerkopf mountain honey, which will be available in the Historial shop from this year.

Every Wednesday afternoon until the end of August, tourists and locals will be able to discover, in addition to their visit to this historic site, the fresh local products of our beautiful valleys of the Vosges Massif.

Beehives at the Hartmannswillerkopf

The Hartmannswillerkopf's Franco-German Great War Historial is now opening its doors to bees. Concerned about its environment, it is clearly part of an eco-responsible project. The site wanted to further emphasise their commitment to biodiversity. This has now been achieved.

At the instigation of Alexandre Dumez, the relay teacher, the first beehives have just been installed near the memorial structure. The bees will find an environment full of history as well as a beautiful natural diversity. The presence of chestnut trees, fir trees and numerous flowers should be favourable to their acclimatisation. The honey they will produce will be available from this summer in the historial shop.
